Canceled - Pattern Alteration & Hacking Workshop Coral Springs, Florida May 9 & 10

Pattern Alteration & Hacking Workshop in Coral Springs, Florida.

First a pattern will be altered to fit and then the design may be changed, or HACKED.

Bring several patterns sized by your full bust measurement for upper body patterns or full hip for lower body patterns and muslin to sew for fitting. Commercial patterns like Simplicity, McCalls, Butterick, Vogue, Kick Sew, Burda, New Look, are easier to use because all of them have a sizing chart including the back waist length measurement and seam allowances. The Simplicity Hacking Patterns are great to use. Click Here

If you choose an independent pattern, be prepared to sew additional muslins. Many independent patterns do not have the apex or the waistline marked, and some have no seam allowances. If you use a CAD program to make your pattern, your body measurements need to be accurate.

If you plan to alter a pant pattern, be prepared to make several muslins.

Measurements will be taken and patterns altered.   Students will cut out and sew the altered pattern in a muslin fabric, check the fit and transfer the alterations to the pattern if needed. Then the pattern may be hacked into their style change if desired. If there is any question about the hack designed, a muslin may be made to check.

Register before March 13, 2020.  That is our cut off date.  If we do not get enough students, this workshop will be canceled and tuition will be refunded.
