Tricks of the Trade I 10-3:30 pm Saturday

Do the sewing instructions sound like Greek? Do you sew clothes you never wear? Have you gone to the other side - QUILTING?

Learn about the basic fundamentals of sewing construction that will ENABLE YOU to sew faster, taking the frustration out of this wonderful craft.  Do you wonder why you get puckers in your sleeve heads or done the front of a princess seam, at the deep part of a V opening or around the neckline when you put in a collar or just a facing?   Does fusible interfacing bubble when you use it or get stiff as a board? Do you avoid sewing with stripes or plaids? Do you use a different size button than the pattern calls for and you don't quite know where to put it without it hanging off the edge?  Does one side of your garment stick out and the other side falls nicely against your body? Eliminate the 'HOME-MADE" look with these techniques.

Just bring in your sewing machine (or rent one for $5) and your sewing tools.  There will be a kit fee of $20 (that includes the sales tax) for all the supplies you need to sew your own samples to take home that will be a great resource for a lifetime. The kit includes tons of notes and pre-cut fabric samples.
