Designer Sewing Techniques with Julio Cesar



Join Fashion Designer Julio Cesar in his New York studio to learn about the techniques he uses in his designs.  This class is $150 to be paid directly to Julio.  You will need to register first for $5.00.

Júlio César, originally from Mossoró, Brazil, has always had a passion for the arts, particularly music, books, and painting. His deep connection to regional folklore art has influenced his artistic journey from an early age.
Since moving to the U.S. in 1993, Júlio has thrived in the fashion industry for over 30 years, showcasing his unique talents in collage on fabric. His creations, known for their strength, vibrancy, and originality, have been featured in prestigious venues like the New Museum and various New York City fashion shows.
Júlio established himself as a respected figure in fashion by pioneering his own techniques. His artworks are characterized by strength, vibrant colors, and captivating designs, emphasizing quality and originality that are immediately apparent.s
Throughout his career, Júlio has crafted sophisticated and innovative pieces for various notable figures and institutions in the U.S. These include Koos Van Den Akker, Sherry Bronfman, Lauren Hutton, Alyce Santoro, Schaumburg Center, Desingtex, The New Museum, Joan Hardy Clark, and Zenobia Lee. In Brazil, Júlio has collaborated with Lia de Itamaracá, Pinga Store, Casa de Antonia, Teresa Cristina, and Martinho da Vila.s
Among his many collaborations, Júlio holds his partnership with Vogue Patterns in high esteem, considering it one of his most robust and fulfilling collaborations.
This portrayal highlights Júlio's artistic prowess, his influential collaborations, and his commitment to pushing the boundaries of fashion through creativity and originality.
Currently dividing his time between Brazil and New York with his partner, Júlio draws inspiration from his diverse interests, travels, and the support of loved ones, continuing to evolve as an artist driven by quality and innovation.
